- Chemical Compatibility: Chemical products used with this equipment must be formulated for this type of application and compatible with unit materials and pump seals. Generally safe for use with standard alkaline and acid sanitation chemicals when used as per label recommendations. Pump Selection: If your replacement pumps and equipment are primarily exposed to acids, chlorinated products, or caustics, Viton or Kalrez would likely be the most suitable materials. However, if flexibility, resilience, and specific chemical resistance to hydrocarbons or oils are critical, Santoprene might be a better option.
